I'm Afroditi, a psychologist and psychotherapist who has spent five years teaching A-Level Psychology. I studied Psychology at Deree and hold an MSc in the Psychology of Mental Health and Wellbeing from the University of Wolverhampton.

What “essay structure” means
It starts with reading the command word.
Every top answer is built to the marks on offer. Take a 16-mark “Evaluate” question: it is marked for knowledge and evaluation, with most of the marks in the evaluation. We drill that until it is second nature.
“Evaluate the biological explanation of schizophrenia.”
- AO16 marks
Outline the dopamine hypothesis with accurate, specific detail.
- AO310 marks
Evaluate with twin studies and weigh reductionism, where most of the marks live.
Notice there is no AO2: reading the command word is half the battle, and it is the first thing we make automatic.
